Billion Bees Foundation

With changing weather patterns and specifically more and greater intensity of bush fires, the bee population is at risk, specifically the Australian native bees. Without bees, our human existence is at risk as it’s the bees that pollinate our plants that produce our food. In the bushfire of 2019, over 20 million hectares were destroyed. For many of these hectares, there was a bee colony, and it is estimated that over 8 million colonies were lost in the fires.

Saverio created the billion Bees foundation to help give nature the upper hand.

The business of bees means that the industry needs to come together to support each other to help grow more colonies so that we can help with the restoration of the bushland and repopulate our environment with native bees. The current industry is one of siloed, cottage industries that BB is in the process of opening up.

Through this process, we are helping Sav and BB create a new industry community, which is working with schools and homes to propagate new colonies so they can be released back into their natural habitat.
